NEW DATE!!! 12th to 16th July 2018
Stelvio Day
It is on many people's bucket list, including ours. This is the mighty Stelvio. 23km up from Bormio, it twists and turns its way towards the Tirol heartland.
23km of hard graft, but that is not really a full day of cycling. So we were thinking of giving you the option of continuing out and looping back around to hit it from the other side!
Mortirolo - Gavia Day
Lance Armstrong said that the Mortirolo was the most difficult climb that he ever did. That from one of the greatest, most juiced cyclists ever must mean that it is tough. So although we will not be doing it as quickly as him, it will be just as tough but very rewarding. We then drop down to the foot of the Gavia to complete our epic trilogy of Italian climbs.
Hidden secrets
In addition to these two flagship days we will be doing a couple of short rides (one on the morning of departure) around the area to take into some more off the beaten track routes. The route up to Lago di Cancano is known as the little Stelvio and its switch backs are breath taking. The Forni Refuge is a nice loosener with a bit of a sting to its tail. The coffee and cake at the top in the remote setting is well worth the effort though.
